Bernie DeKoven is a fantastic person with lots of play and lots of laugh in him. You should see how big a collection of game he has! But not expensive board games, no no. Simple games that require little or no material and that can be played anywhere, anytime!

Clay pot watering for the garden.

When the water gets rare and you need to save it, or when you just want to go away for a few days and not have to worry about your garden drying out, self-watering techniques are a life-savers!

I find the clay pot watering technique particularly elegant. Bury an unglazed clay pot into your garden soil, fill it with water and plant your herbs and vegetables around it. Water will be sucked into the soil through the porous clay and plants will develop their roots to “wrap” the pot. Very little water will be lost to evaporation!

Yummy Banana Pancake recipe

Hi! Today I'll share with you a very simple to prepare yet tasty snack : the Banana Pancake!

Ingredients :

• One egg, beaten
• One ripe banana
• 1/4 cup flour
• A bit of butter or oil for cooking

Place the ripe banana in a plate and crush it into a purée with a fork. Mix with the egg in a bowl and then add the flour. Blend into a thick mixture.

Put some oil or butter into a well prepared pan (or a non-stick pan but thought they are easier to use they are not as healthy). Heat the pan on medium-high setting. When the pan is hot enough, pour the mixture into the pan and cook for a minute or two on one side then flip on the other side with a spatula.

Serve as is or with fresh fruits, jam, maple syrup, honey, almonds, yogurt, however you like!


Extra Tips :
Make sure the pancake doesn't stick to the pan by gently inserting the spatula under it all around the sides.

Add some flavour to the basic mixture! Here are some ideas :

• 1/4 teaspoon natural vanilla extract 
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• A handful of raisins
• ...
• get creative!
